Programmes starting back at Mayfield Nurseries
Therapeutic horticulture programmes are starting back again at Mayfield Nurseries. We are excited to return and a thrilled to be able to present a variety new Wellbeing Programmes, to be announced over the next few weeks.
The phased return of the wellbeing programmes will be unaffected by new Government measures to suppress Covid-19 that came into force from Monday 14th September. (Find the latest on local lockdown measures in Southampton here.)
Mayfield’s activities will be exempt from these new restrictions which don’t apply to places of work and charitable settings, as well as to those providing support for vulnerable people. Vigorous Safety measures have been taken at Mayfield Nurseries to enable the safe continuation of services for participants.
As well as providing guidelines on social distancing, there will also be staggered programme start times, smaller groups, and changes to the use of communal areas, extra cleaning and hygiene rules have been introduced.
Dan Angus, Mayfield Nurseries Head of Social Enterprise, said: “As we resume our therapeutic gardening programmes, we have introduced measures to keep participants, volunteers and staff safe at Mayfield. We continue to adhere to Government guidance. Thanks to all our participants for their patience and understanding and to all our supporters who have helped to keep us going through this difficult time. Our services are on hand for all those who have been affected by the pandemic whether through loss, loneliness, isolation or heightened anxiety. We very much look forward to helping as many people as we can to find better ways to good mental health."
