On Friday 25th a team of residents from the project were lucky enough to have a mini day trip to The Hawthorns Wildlife Centre in the heart of the city.
Ian Bailey, Community Engagement Officer from SCC kindly opened the centre for our exclusive visit, giving us special access to the grounds for our visit. Ian showed us around, giving us an informal but educational talk on all the different habitats and wildlife within the walled site.
It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining after all the rain and storms we had recently had, we stopped for lunch and then helped with some much-needed conservation work, which included clearing and cutting back.
We all had a wonderful day and look forward to continuing our conservation support and seeing the different habitats change with the seasons.
